Interim Head of Facilities Management Location: West London
Contract: Approx. 6 months (with intention to move to permanent recruitment)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £500 per day UMBRELLA 
Working Pattern: 4 days per week on-site

A West London local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Facilities Management to lead a critical phase of its estate strategy, with a strong focus on the operational launch of a new civic campus.
This is a high-profile interim role requiring hands-on leadership, technical FM expertise, and proven experience mobilising complex public-sector buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the operational mobilisation and launch of a new civic / multi-use campus, ensuring full readiness for occupation
  • Oversee all FM functions including hard and soft services, compliance, health & safety, and building operations
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Ensure statutory compliance across all facilities and operational services
  • Provide visible leadership on site during the transition to live operations
  • Report to senior leadership and provide assurance on readiness, risks, and performance
Essential Experience & Requirements
  • Proven experience leading the operational launch of a new civic, public-sector, or large multi-use campus
  • Demonstrable track record of mobilising complex buildings into full operational use
  • Senior-level FM leadership experience within local authority or public sector environments
  • Strong understanding of hard and soft FM services, compliance, and building operations
  • Ability to operate at pace in a high-profile, delivery-focused role
