Job Details


ROLE PURPOSE

  • The processing of planning applications
  • The provision of general planning advice
  • The processing of planning appeals
  • Development of planning policy and associated documents

Responsibilities 
  • To ensure compliance with your responsibilities as laid out in the council's health and safety policy and take an active role in promoting a positive health and safety culture.
  • Investigation of cases of contraventions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, The Planning Act 2008 and associated legislation and the planning of recommendations relating to resolution/action.
  • Participating in the pro active resolution of breaches of planning control, including the utilisation of planning and related legislation to secure timel , cost effective resolutions.
  • Appraisal of the technical aspects of the planning appeals and preparation and presentation of appeal statements to include a site visit, research into the planning history of the site, and analysis and explanation of strategic and local planning policies.
  • Assistance in the registration of new planning applications involving the checking of planning fees and permitted development.

Requirements 
  • Experience in planning policy, planning enforcement or development All management is essential for al' roles H6 and above
  • Experience working in councils or housing associations 
  • Knowledge of current Town and Country planning, practice, Procedures and legislation, in one or more areas; within planning, enforcement, policy or development control.
  • Physically able to undertake site visits out of office and to inspect developed and underdeveloped sites safely.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence 

Contract 
  • Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing with the opportunity to extend
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm Hybrid - mix of home and office/onsite client premises
  • PAYE via Umbella
