Role Purpose

  • To deliver the Council’s vision and its corporate priorities to ‘Put Residents First’ and ‘Support Those Most in Need’.
  • Delivery of key elements of the council’s Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy 2041 including working to help implement new charging points in line with Flagship Action and corporate targets.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for implementing the council’s lamp column, flat and flush and rapid charger electric vehicle charge points (EVCPs), rollout, locating suitable sites for the charge points and liaising closely with the Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to determine feasibility. This will include public engagement work on the proposed locations and ensuring that relevant approvals are in place prior to implementation.
  • Provide expert advice to the Council’s senior management and Portfolio Holders.
  • Engage with and establish relationships with funding bodies (e.g., Office of Zero Emissions (OZEV)), and work in partnership with other stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes for Harrow.
  • Manage project budgets and seek opportunities to bring in additional investment through drafting funding bids.
  • Project manage the implementation of the electric vehicle charge point infrastructure.
  • To establish and implement monitoring systems to ensure plans are implemented on time and within budget.
  • To support the delivery of the Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy 2041
  • To promote and participate in the Council’s individual performance appraisal and development initiatives and information management best practice
  • To ensure compliance with the council’s information security policies and maintain
Requirement
  • In accordance with the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
  • Knowledge of the democratic process, including requirements for public consultation and the ability to create effective working relationships with councillors, to drive and prioritise service delivery and improvements.
  • Knowledge of legislation and best practice in the planning and delivery of electric vehicle charging infrastructure
  • Experience of managing traffic, transport and/or parking improvement schemes
  • Experience of establishing systems to monitor capital programmes
Contract 
  • Initial 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend 
  • PAYE via Umbrella 
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm 
  • Hybrid role, with 3 days a week in the office
