My client is recruiting for a Planning Officer based within the local Authority in East London and the surrounding area.
Responsibilities

• Provide generalist support on all planning matters that meet the needs of the councils multi-cultural communities.
• Provide generalist support on all allocated planning work, including carrying an appropriate case load, ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements, the Council’s policies and procedures and to the best professional standards for the benefit of the residents of the Borough.
• Where directed be responsible, with support, for leading on some appropriate elements, of planning work.
• Undertake a monitoring role in respect of planning service issues
• Keep abreast of Government policies, current ideas and developments in relation to all aspects of urban and regional planning.

Requirements

• Knowledge of key issues relating to planning and regeneration within inner London.
• Understanding of town planning legislation and policy at national, London and local planning authority level.
• Knowledge of the operation of local government.
• Driving licence

Contract 

• Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend 
• PAYE via Umbrella 
• Monday to Friday
• 9am to 5pm 

As the role is Local Authority based candidates will be asked to complete an onboarding & compliance checks including DBS & Online training modules prior to starting.
