Senior Rehousing Officer


Job Details



Responsibilities 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for residents for all re-housing matters and often all regeneration matters and ensure that residents are provided with all information about all aspects the estate regeneration schemes. Ensure that they fully understand how they will be affected and how the Council will support and assist them through the move and regeneration process.
  • Complete housing needs assessments with residents to assess their individual needs and preferences. Ensure that they are given the most appropriate re-housing advice and opportunities, taking into account their needs and aspirations, their eligibility for assistance under the homelessness legislation, their priority on the housing register, and their ability to meet their housing needs through affordable home ownership, the private rented sector or a mutual exchange.
  • Assess all needs assessments to ensure that they are completed correctly, ahead of submission to the Lettings Team and ensure that additional information is disseminated to the necessary departments for action.
  • Write and regularly review all rehousing documentation and promotional material. and work with the Estate Regeneration Manager to develop policy and procedural changes, as appropriate, in order to ensure that Council services remains relevant, accessible, efficient and effective.
  • Foster and maintain positive and effective working relationships with other departments and services and ensure they are fully updated with the rehousing programme.

Requirements 
  1. At least 2 years experience of working on similar estate regeneration projects in a re-housing environment, or 3 years in a rehousing role.
  2. Significant hands-on experience in writing rehousing policies and procedures.
  3. Experience working in a housing association or council 
  4. Experience of working across departments to successfully deliver objectives.
  5. Experience of managing and being accountable for budgets, ensuring that financial records and systems are maintained and processed and that budget allocations are monitored and controlled.
  6. Experience of successfully re-housing residents affected by regeneration schemes.

Contract 
  • Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract 
  • PAYE via Umbrella 
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
