Responsibilities
- Operate a flatbed lorry to transport goods to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence HGV Class 2 with no major endorsements or violations.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently as required during loading/unloading processes.
- A commitment to maintaining vehicle cleanliness and performing basic maintenance checks.
