Job Title: Building Safety Manager
Department: Property and Compliance (The Economy)
Rate: £425 per day (Inside IR35)

Role Overview:
They are seeking a dedicated Building Safety Manager to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and Fire Safety Act 2021. You will manage safety for high-rise residential buildings, maintaining the safety case, engaging with residents, and liaising with regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to building safety legislation, focusing on fire safety and structural integrity.
  • Safety Case Management: Develop and maintain safety case files and reports for high-rise buildings.
  • Resident Engagement: Address fire and structural safety concerns, providing clear communication and support.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary contact with the Building Safety Regulator and other relevant authorities.
  • Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections to uphold high safety standards and coordinate necessary maintenance.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the creation and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
  • Training and Awareness: Deliver training sessions and presentations to residents and staff on fire safety and compliance matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Educational Background: Degree in Fire Safety Management, Fire Engineering, or a related field; NEBOSH General Certificate; NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (FC1/FC2) or equivalent.
  • Professional Membership: Full membership or active pursuit of membership with professional bodies such as IFE, IFSM, CIOB, RICS, or CABE.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in fire safety management, including risk assessment, policy development, and contractor management.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and related health and safety legislation.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and leadership skills, and proficiency in IT systems related to safety management.
