Job Description
Vox Consultants are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer for one of our multi-national global clients who also holds electrical qualifications to support our maintenance operations. This role involves carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance tasks, minor installation works, and lifecycle replacements. A key focus will be on the maintenance of HVAC systems, oversight of the site's Building Management System (BMS), and the day-to-day operation of cooling towers.

- Perform scheduled (planned) and unscheduled (reactive) maintenance across the site, identifying opportunities for service and performance improvements.
- Maintain and manage HVAC systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
- Monitor and control the site's BMS, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Oversee the operational condition and compliance of cooling towers.
- Ensure that all necessary materials and consumables are available to carry out maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Provide accurate parts lists and estimated timelines for remedial works when required.
- Complete all necessary documentation and update the CAFM system (e.g. Maximo) promptly and accurately for both planned and reactive tasks.
- Prepare and follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments to uphold safe working practices at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized condition in all plant rooms and technical areas.
- Supervise subcontractors on site, ensuring all works, especially those involving electrical and FM tasks, are carried out to standard and within safety protocols.
- Be prepared to cover shifts during staff absences due to holidays or illness, including working flexible or unscheduled hours when needed.
- Work independently when required, following appropriate training and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) as outlined in the contract.
- Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
- Support emergency situations and respond promptly to ensure continuous operation of site services.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working in a facilities maintenance environment.
- Familiarity with CAFM systems
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build good working relationships with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Commitment to safe working practices, including the proper use of PPE and uniform at all times.
- Flexibility to adapt working hours based on operational needs.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as directed by the account management team.
