Location: East London

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (hybrid working)
Rate: £450 per day (umbrella)

Role Overview:

A prestigious role awaits a seasoned Project Manager to oversee Housing Major Works in East London. This contract position, spanning 6 to 12 months, offers a rewarding daily rate of £450 under an umbrella arrangement. This is an excellent chance to leverage your expertise in fire safety construction and project management to make a tangible impact on the community.

Key Responsibilities:

- People Management: While there are no direct supervisory duties, the role may involve assisting in the induction and training of peers and new employees.
- Resident & Community Contribution: Uphold the Council’s Customer Care Standards to deliver the vision of ‘putting our residents first’. Provide comprehensive, accurate housing advice and empower residents to manage their housing situations independently.
- Operational Service Delivery: Develop detailed project and cost plans, specifications, drawings, and contract documentation for new build, refurbishment, and reinvestment projects. Ensure the highest standards of quality and cost control, and take appropriate action to address any underperformance. Commission and manage support consultants from various professional disciplines to deliver projects in line with Government regulations and Council rules.

Skills and Experience Required:

- Fire Safety Construction Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in delivering fire safety construction work to buildings, with a thorough understanding of the regulatory process for higher-risk buildings under the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Project Management Expertise: Proven track record of managing projects involving multi-disciplinary consultant teams.
- Customer Care Standards: Strong commitment to the Council’s Customer Care Standards, with the ability to provide holistic and informed housing advice.
- Technical Proficiency: Competence in producing detailed project and cost plans, specifications, and contract documentation, ensuring quality and cost control.
