Job Description

Role Purpose

  • To provide technical support to the Pre-construction and Operations teams to produce technical tender detail and be responsible for the development, review, control and management of day-to-day Engineering Services.  The role will include responsibility of design activities, ensuring close liaison with all stakeholders during the pre-construction, bid management/ tenders, construction & commissioning phases of a project.
Responsibilities 
  • Production of technical answers for Engineering Services tender proposals
  • Design Gap filling & Production of Contractors Proposals 
  • Designer Appointments 
  • Review tender documentation 
  • Value Engineering Reviews 
  • Integral part of the bid process where required
  • Attending Meetings
  • Planning / Programming 
  • Buildability Reviews
  • Identify Risks / Management 
  • Integration of Supply Chain 
  • Design Scope Setting 

Requirements
  • Experience of working for an MEP Engineering company both preconstruction and delivery is desirable.
  • Experience writing technical answers for MEP bids
  • Have a knowledge and good understanding of Designer Appointments using BSRIA BG6
  • Recognised Building Industry Accreditation & have a good knowledge of Industry Legislation
  • IT skills to an advanced level, including BIM experience and associated design packages
  • Strong MEP technical design solutions & engineering background, with experience of customer management
  • Well-developed design management, bid, commercial and project management skills
  • Good understanding and knowledge of design / quality systems and environmental procedures.
  • Keen sense of opportunity and the ability to accurately assess ‘Added-Value’ for the customer over Risk.

  • Well-developed technical solution led communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure / multi-task / effective at managing own time & establishing priorities
