About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Manager to join a Local Authority in South East London on an interim basis. This is a vital role leading on the delivery of fire safety compliance and ensuring the highest standards of safety across a large housing portfolio.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Manager to join a Local Authority in South East London on an interim basis. This is a vital role leading on the delivery of fire safety compliance and ensuring the highest standards of safety across a large housing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the responsible and competent person for managing fire risk across housing stock, ensuring compliance with all statutory and non-statutory fire safety responsibilities.
- Oversee fire risk assessments, inspections and audits across residential, commercial and workplace premises.
- Develop, implement, and review fire safety emergency plans and procedures.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on fire safety management at both strategic and operational levels.
- Manage fire risk assessment programmes, contractors, consultants, and internal staff, ensuring robust systems and high standards of delivery.
- Liaise with external agencies such as the London Fire Brigade, Building Control, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare fire safety reports, building safety cases, and contribute to emergency planning exercises.
- Ensure residents’ safety remains at the heart of all activity, engaging with communities and putting customers first.
- Degree educated with chartered or fellowship membership in fire safety, health & safety, or risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Demonstrable experience of fire safety management across social housing or public sector environments.
- Strong leadership in emergency situations with the ability to manage responses effectively.
- Experience working with Fire and Rescue Services and relevant external agencies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and technical report-writing skills.
