Job Title: SEN Caseworker
Location: North West London
Rate: £280 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: Ongoing
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm (office attendance required on Wednesdays)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SEN Caseworker to join a Local Authority in North West London. This role will manage a caseload of children and young people (0–25) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring statutory compliance and delivering high-quality Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the full Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment and review process for a defined caseload of children and young people.
  • Draft and amend EHC Plans, ensuring they reflect parental views, professional advice, and statutory guidance.
  • Work closely with professionals in education, health, and social care to ensure provision is appropriate and timely.
  • Provide advice and guidance to parents, children, and schools on the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
  • Present cases at weekly multi-professional panel meetings and contribute to decision-making on provision and placements.
  • Attend annual reviews and challenge or support schools regarding statutory responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and case data on the Education Management System.

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Proven experience managing caseloads within SEN casework or a similar environment.
  • Ability to assess, interpret, and implement recommendations from a range of professional reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce statutory correspondence and reports.
  • Experience working collaboratively with professionals across education, health, and social care.
  • Confident, organised, and capable of facilitating multi-agency meetings.
  • IT literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel, case management systems).
  • Minimum GCSE English and Maths (A–C) or equivalent.
