Job Description
Job Title: SEN Duty Coordinator
Location: North London (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £278.32 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: 3-month ongoing
Hours: Monday to Friday
The Role We are currently recruiting an experienced SEN Duty Coordinator to join a busy SEND Service within a North London local authority. This is a 3-month ongoing contract offering hybrid working and the opportunity to support statutory SEN processes during periods of high demand.
The role will be deployed flexibly across the service to provide cover and support, ensuring statutory duties are met and high-quality outcomes are delivered for children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Key Responsibilities
- Support statutory SEN assessment and EHCP processes in line with legal timescales
- Coordinate and contribute to EHC needs assessments and annual reviews
- Chair and attend multi-agency and co-production meetings with families and professionals
- Ensure high-quality EHCPs are produced and maintained
- Manage complex cases during periods of service pressure or staff absence
- Liaise with schools, health professionals, and other local authorities
- Prepare documentation for panels, mediation, and tribunals where required
- Maintain accurate records on SEN case management systems
- Strong experience working within a SEND or statutory SEN service
- Excellent knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice
- Proven ability to manage complex cases in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident working with families, schools, and multi-agency partners
- High level of resilience, organisation, and attention to detail
