Electrician – Repairs, Installations & TestingLocation:

About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and safety‑focused Electrician to join our team. You’ll carry out a wide range of electrical repairs, installations, servicing, and inspection & testing across our housing stock ensuring our customers receive a reliable, high‑quality service every time.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Completing safe, compliant electrical works—including repairs, rewires, installations, servicing, and EICRs—within agreed timescales.
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, ensuring first‑time fix wherever possible.
  • Carrying out domestic rewires and ensuring all work meets Abri’s quality standards.
  • Communicating effectively with customers, colleagues, and supervisors to keep everyone informed of progress.
  • Escalating complex issues to senior staff when required.
  • Ensuring all work complies with BS 7671, health & safety legislation, and internal policies.
  • Interpreting drawings and specifications, identifying materials required, and ensuring installations are completed and tested correctly.
  • Supporting planned works teams on full electrical installations in occupied and void properties, including kitchens, bathrooms, and full rewires.
  • Participating in the out‑of‑hours emergency call‑out rota.
  • Maintaining the company vehicle, completing regular safety checks, and reporting defects promptly.
  • Supporting apprentices and trainees as needed.
  • Carrying out any other duties appropriate to the role.

What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Electrician with AM2 or equivalent (Achievement Measurement 2).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2351, 2330 L2/L3, or approved equivalent).
  • C&G 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in social housing, domestic maintenance, or similar environments.
  • Strong practical knowledge of the current BS 7671 regulations and competent in inspection, testing, and commissioning.
  • C&G 2394/2395 (Initial Verification / Periodic Inspection) – desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel efficiently to customer properties.
  • Good IT skills and excellent customer service abilities.
