Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 5:00pm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Repairs Supervisor to join a leading social housing maintenance team in South London on a 3-month ongoing contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and technically skilled supervisor with extensive experience managing reactive repairs and void maintenance services within a social housing environment.
The RoleAs a Repairs Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of up to 7 trade operatives, including skilled, multi-skilled and unskilled staff, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused repairs and maintenance services are delivered efficiently and safely.
You will oversee reactive repairs, property inspections, quality control, workforce performance, health and safety compliance, and customer satisfaction across occupied residential properties.

You will oversee reactive repairs, property inspections, quality control, workforce performance, health and safety compliance, and customer satisfaction across occupied residential properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Line manage and support a team of up to 7 trade operatives.
- Supervise reactive repairs and void maintenance works across social housing properties.
- Undertake inspections of building defects and repairs relating to:
- Building fabric
- Plumbing systems
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical repairs
- Conduct pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections, and post-completion quality inspections.
- Produce clear and accurate technical reports, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Investigate complaints and survey repair issues to identify effective solutions.
- Issue and monitor remedial works and snagging lists.
- Escalate complex repairs and major works where appropriate.
- Provide technical support and guidance to housing management teams.
- Monitor and update repair workflow systems to ensure accurate record keeping.
- Review operative performance and ensure compliance with No Access and Follow-On procedures.
- Work closely with planning teams, surveyors, contract managers, compliance officers, and repairs teams to coordinate service delivery.
- Authorise expenditure and payments within delegated authority levels.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and organisational policies.
We are looking for an experienced repairs professional with a strong technical background and proven supervisory experience within social housing maintenance.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a recognised building trade.
- Extensive experience supervising reactive repairs and/or void maintenance services.
- Extensive experience managing a direct labour workforce.
- Strong understanding of building maintenance and repair sequencing.
- Experience working within high-volume maintenance environments.
- Ability to produce clear technical reports and repair specifications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Sound understanding of health and safety responsibilities within maintenance services.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
- Experience working within local authority or social housing environments.
