Building Control Surveyor
Location: South West England
Pay Rate: £56.97 per hour Umbrella
Contract: 5-Month Contract
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Working Pattern: Remote following initial system training

Key Responsibilities

• Assess Building Regulations applications and ensure compliance with current legislation.
• Carry out plan assessments and provide technical advice on Building Control matters.
• Undertake site inspections where required to monitor compliance with Building Regulations.
• Advise developers, contractors, architects and members of the public on Building Control requirements.
• Ensure projects comply with the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain detailed records.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
• Support enforcement activities where necessary and contribute to maintaining public safety.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working as a Building Control Surveyor within a Local Authority or Approved Inspector environment.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act and associated legislation.
• Experience assessing plans and carrying out site inspections.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• The ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (such as CABE, RICS or CIOB) is desirable.
